Why Do You Play Ultimate? After going from 6 years of athletics year round to not playing on any team freshman year, I was itching to get back on the playing field. I knew some of my friends loved Ultimate so I joined at the start of my sophomore year and immediately fell in love with the sport and the Valkyries.
Favorite Thing About Ultimate The fast pace of action, the spirit of the players, and the fact that anyone can become a solid player if they put in the effort. Ultimate seems to attract a certain type of person, and together it creates this amazing community of great people and stellar athletes.
Favorite Team Moment Finals: Sectionals 2008. or as some fondly refer to it: the Valkyries' coming out party. As a team our energy was so high, you could absolutely feel the intensity running through us. I have never been more ready to play a game, and winning and letting Metro Boston know exactly who we are was a pretty proud moment.
